Crisis in Cuba stars to linger in Berlin
The missiles in Cuba were just the tip of the iceberg. The Soviets were planning on having the missile in Cuba to distract the United Sates from Berlin. The Soviets were then going to attack West Berlin.(BBC-John F Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis) President John F. Kennedy was having a conversation with General Lucius Clay. In this conversation President John F. Kennedy says “Seems to me, Berlin, is a key problem, as it has been in the being of this whole matter.” and " So I suppose General we can anticipate difficulties in Berlin and well as other places.”(John F. Kennedy Presidental Library and Museum-Telephone Recordings) This means that the Cuba missile crisis was have a big effect on the situation in Berlin with the separation of Berlin.
